Why do we need your services instead of buying a shredding machine?
Using Shredsec’s shredding services means that you will save your organisation time and money, and reduce the likelihood of your sensitive data being compromised:
- You will not have to incur the expense of buying a shredding machine.
- Your staff won’t have to spend time shredding your materials, removing paperclips, etc., so they can be used for more productive work.
- Most of the shredding machines that are designed for office usage do not shred your documents to a level that will ensure the data cannot be retrieved. Find out more about the levels and types of shredding.
How do you know my documents will be destroyed?
Using Shredsec to shred your documents will give you peace of mind because:
- Our shredding is carried out by cross cut shredders that operate at a minimum of DIN 3 categorisation. See our page about standards for the security levels of shredders for more information.
- We issue a Certificate of Destruction which guarantees that your documents were destroyed.
Why should I use a shredding company instead of a waste collection service?
The answer to this depends on the nature of your waste paper. If it contains no sensitive information then the use of a waste collection company would be acceptable. However, if the documents contain sensitive data then there is a risk this information can be compromised. The result of this is impossible to predict. However, if your organisation is found to be deficient in its compliance with the Data Protection Act, a substantial fine can be made.
Shredsec provides secure document shredding to all types of organisations. After shredding your documents, we issue a Certificate of Destruction and dispatch the waste paper for use in new paper products.
What areas do you cover?
We operate in the East Midlands and the East of England covering Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire. We also cover London.
What business sectors do you work with?
We operate in a wide range of business sectors and offer the same high levels of customer service to all organisations irrespective of their sector or size.
What type of material do you shred?
Shredsec provides shredding services for paper documents. Our shredding machinery operates at a minimum of DIN3 (as categorised by the DIN 32757, the European standard for paper shredder security) and shreds using the latest cross-cutting technology so that the paper is output as fine confetti. This means that it is impossible to re-compile the information contained on the paper and you are assured of the total destruction of your data.
What happens if our bin is full before the collection date?
You can email or phone us to arrange collection and we’ll usually be able to attend your premises within 24 hours.
Do we need to remove staples, clips and pins?
You do not need to remove staples, clips, pins or binder clips – or any other document fastening. Simply place the material that needs to be shredded into the sacks or secure bins provided and we collect it and shred it.
Do you shred domestic documents?
Yes, we shred paper and documents from homes, home-offices, etc. Please see our Domestic Shredding page.
How frequent are your collections?
We can collect your paper and documents for shredding as frequently as you need. We will talk through your requirements and establish a shredding schedule. The schedule may operate on a daily, weekly, monthly basis. We operate on-demand too so you can simply pick up the phone and book a delivery, if required.
All our contracts can easily be adjusted to change the frequency of your shredding service.
What are the size of jobs you accept?
Our customers range from large financial institutions to single individuals operating from a home-office. We pride ourselves on giving the same high standards of customer service regardless of your size or contract.
When do I get the invoice?
The invoice is sent to you immediately after the shredding has been completed.
What do you do with the shredded material?
The shredded output is recycled into a variety of different paper products.
